yay! progress!

two posts in one today people... brace yourselves.

so friday i had a party for my b-day and a couple of my gal pals came over to help me celebrate with alcohol and br's food. also cake. delicious chocolate cake.

i drink a lot of alcohol. we handled a magnum of zinfandel, one bottle of white, a bottle of asti and about 2/3's of a big bottle of smirnof vodka. mmm... vodka. also? good birthday present? gray goose.

it's kinda crazy how manic i'm lookin in this pics. i was over happy and over drunk. you know? we over indulge.
i also go a set of "sexy" lingerie, a cool t-shirt from one of my fav stores (aritzia.com) and some delicious pasta, sauce and server from williams
sonoma, where br would like to buy expensive things from.

yay birthdays!

next... this weekend we made a trip out to kensington market, toronto's local feel good area. they have a lot of vintage and second hand clothing stores peppered in with foreign cuisines and inexpe
nsive produce. it's where we go to splurge on our veggies and fruits cuz you can't get a bag of veggies and fruits from the local grocery store for under $10. you really can't.

but also, lettuce knits is there and i fell in love as soon as i walked across the threshold of that place. i wish i had had my camera on this occasion because in one of the cubbys, on top of the wool, there was this gorgeous black cat all sleepin. he was so cute! you really didn't notice at first but then bam he's there. adorable. so i decided to start on a new project for my frien
d smelby.

say hello to the ladylike lace gloves. those of you out there who are already avid snb'ers will recognise these from the happy hooker.

i really like the look of these gloves, their cute... but the pattern was hard as hell to execute. i thought i was going to die... but did you know the first printing of the book is riddled with errors? i didn't know that either until i found the corrections online.

so i finally got through it with a lot of tears and sweat and words not suitable for the office. but unfortch, it's too huge and gigantic for my friend, who has small hands. so i'm frogging the bastard and starting all over again, with the right directions. wanna see the finished product though? of course you do. you love everything i do.

Thanks for the heads up about that book - I wouldn't have checked for corrections. They'll be really cool gloves!
